Jared and Mia first met in January 2020, both working for Tesla in California. Jared had been promoted to General Manager, running the Milpitas Field Energy office; Mia had just returned to the company as a Recruiter dedicated to Field Energy in the Bay Area. Since Milpitas ran the largest operations in the Bay [company], they worked closely together to build his team- always keeping it professional.

In fact, Mia was convinced that Jared was "30 and married, probably with kids" since he was so practical and competent. Unattainable, but the type of man she always imagined herself with.

Jared thought Mia was pretty and was excited to find out she was "his dedicated recruiter" - he was extra excited to attend any hiring events if Mia would be there.

They enjoyed working together, each privately noticing the other, but work was all they talked about for the first several months.

In March that year, Mia transitioned to support the Automotive side of the business and they no longer worked together. Mia had shared her personal cell number with Jared, 'in case of emergencies', so he of course checked in when she moved to the new role. Mia was going through some personal life changes at the time, and left him unread for 4 months!

She finally texted him back in July, having just returned from the 4th in Northern Michigan. After agonizing over how to excuse the long delay, she finally shot back a lame "sorry/hi" and was resigned to never hear from him again. Jared immediately wrote back, and they were both grinning ear to ear texting each other for hours. They made plans to hang out that weekend and the rest is history.
